Being a responsible and welcome member of the communities in which we operate is an essential part of Talisman Energy USA's business strategy. Our reputation for honest dealings and integrity is critical in developing lasting relationships with landowners.
Talisman Energy USA listens closely to community concerns and plans our operations accordingly. We are sensitive to local communities as we transport our drilling equipment and supplies. Talisman Energy USA actively seeks to notify landowners about our operations and we provide movement schedules to local highway departments, emergency service centers and school districts. Our employees and contractors adhere to traffic regulations and we routinely monitor compliance. Whenever possible, we schedule our road use around school activities and community events to mitigate traffic delays. Talisman Energy USA also waters private roads to keep dust down and works with public officials to ensure compliance with local noise ordinances.
Safety and the Environment
Our responsibility to safety and the environment is something we take very seriously. We strive to create an incident-free culture and follow proven practices that minimize our environmental impact. Talisman Energy USA meets or exceeds state and federal environmental protection regulations and maintains safe, clean job sites. Our wellsite reclamation process ensures that all property is ultimately restored to a condition equal to or better than when our operations began. We provide resources to municipalities and restore private roads that have been used by Talisman Energy USA.
Community Relations
Talisman Energy USA's success is directly linked to the success of the communities in which we operate. Successful natural gas production is a cooperative effort among many parties including landowners, employees, contractors, suppliers, regulators and public officials.
Talisman Energy USA regularly conducts community open houses and instructs our vendors and contractors to be sensitive to local concerns. Our Good Neighbor Hotline (866-566-4747) was specifically created to address community member questions or concerns regarding our operations.
Our operations directly benefit communities through capital spending, expansion of local infrastructure, job creation, landowner lease and royalty payments, and meaningful and sustainable local initiative support. In addition, our business supports dozens of local contractors, suppliers and service companies located in the areas where we operate.
