Fortuna Energy Inc. Becomes Talisman Energy USA Inc.

Fortuna Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Talisman Energy, is pleased to announce that we have changed our name to Talisman Energy USA.  Effective January 2010, this change is in name only: our business operations will continue as normal, with a primary focus on safe and responsible operations.   We look forward to a successful year ahead as we continue in our commitment to develop natural gas resources in the Marcellus Shale.

As a landowner leased with Fortuna, you may have questions regarding how this change may affect you.  The name change will not alter your lease in any way, as you will be advised in upcoming correspondence from Talisman Energy USA.   You will still receive a 2009 W-9 from Fortuna Energy; however, please be advised that, due to the timing of this change, you may receive separate W-9s from Fortuna Energy Inc. and Talisman Energy USA in 2010.

Please have patience as we work to incorporate this new name in all of our business communications.   Feel free to contact our Good Neighbor Hotline (toll-free 866-566-4747) if you have any questions.

Can a creature that weighs less than eight grams stop a three-ton backhoe?  At Talisman Energy USA, the answer is an emphatic "Yes!"

The Northern Myotis bat is a "species of concern" in Pennsylvania, so its habitat is protected in Tioga County, where Talisman Energy USA is ramping up activity in the unconventional Marcellus Shale gas play.  The presence of this bat has caused us to take precautionary environmental protection measures while building a pipeline to a compressor station there.
