Currently, Talisman Energy USA makes payments to over 2,500 royalty recipients. Natural gas production from any well earns a minimum royalty of 12.5% of the gas marketed, proportionally divided between the land owners according to their acreage within the unit. Established regulations and procedures govern the tracking and reporting of royalty information.
The Rental and Royalty Accounting Department at TEUSA oversees the accounting, analysis, and audits of all yearly lease rentals and monthly gas royalties. TEUSA makes royalty payments according to our contractual terms, typically within 60 days. Once the monthly royalty is established according to a leaseholders share of a spacing unit, royalty checks are issued about the same time each month with a report of supporting information, which includes volume production and the accumulative sale price per 1,000 cubic feet.
