As Part of the Good Neighbor Program, Fortuna staff members are encouraged to initiate and participate in volunteer events in the community. We believe it is important to support the communities where we live and work, and look forward to doing so. Two recent volunteer events were the Adopt-A-Highway program and Chemung County SPCA project.
Adopt-A-Highway
On Saturday, May 16, 8 staff members volunteered their time to participate in the Adopt-A-Highway event. Through this program, Fortuna has adopted a 2 mile stretch of Route 352 in Big Flats, NY, that it will be responsible for cleaning up on a quarterly basis. We are grateful for the opportunity to help keep our community clean and inviting.
Chemung County SPCA
Fortuna staff recently heard that the Chemung County SPCA was in need of some help and we were happy to provide it. The shelter has built an addition on the building in order to offer more room and improved accomodations for its resident dogs and cats, but needed volunteers to paint the new rooms. On Saturday, April 18, several staff members donated thier time to do just that. We had a blast and cannot wait to see the final product that will benefit the shelter animals!
