Description:
The Marketing Accountant is responsible for accounting functions related to the marketing of natural gas.
Essential Functions:
Perform Marketing functions and projects in accordance with Fortuna’s accounting procedures. Marketing functions include:
- Marketing accounting
- GGS Fees
- Hierarchy set-up and maintenance
- Government and operations accounting, including volumetric reporting (monthly and annually)
In addition, the Marketing Accountant will, with guidance from the Finance Supervisor:
- Set Marketing goals according to business strategy, and ensure goals are met.
- Manage the Marketing budget
- Identify Marketing function and process improvements and make recommendations accordingly to the Finance Supervisor

- The capacity to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of processes within group and across functional and organizational boundaries
- Interact harmoniously & professionally with all others in the organization including counterparts/advisors at Talisman Energy
- Excellent presentation skills
Qualifications:
The following qualifications are preferred. Other combinations of experience and education will be considered.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3 - 5 years related experience.
- Extensive understanding of financial systems, particularly as they relate to Marketing
- Oil and Gas industry experience strongly preferred
