Commerical Business Analyst (Finance)

Description:

Specific responsibilities include:
·         Supporting the Marcellus in the collection of data and maintenance of standard report for planning and analysis including sensitivities, risks opportunities and strategies.
·         Providing timely and accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting and analysis of results. 
·         Working directly with Field office managers (operations and development) to assist in managing the day to day business via reporting and ad hoc queries.
·         Analysis of Health Safety & Environment data for Marcellus Delivery Unit.

  • A proven ability to manage numerous issues in a multi-disciplinary and deadline driven environment. 
  • Strong systems and data mining skills are necessary to facilitate regular reporting and ad hoc queries – these include advanced Excel skills and proficiency in MS Access, PowerPoint, Word and Envision. 
  • Possess exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills – as is the ability to see the ”big picture”. 
  • Focus on the needs of stakeholders with a positive attitude and enthusiasm. 
  • Able to set priorities, adapt to rapid change and learn quickly
  • Exposure to oil & gas operations, financial/production accounting and related systems are valuable assets. 
  • The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years industry experience
  • The successful candidate will learn from the diverse cross-functional team by gaining knowledge of the organization’s business systems.
  • A positive, professional attitude and a strong sense of personal responsibility
  • Excellent organizational, analytical & communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a busy workload while managing multiple concurrent tasks, sometimes under tight deadlines
  • Desire to coach and assist junior staff
  • The ability to resolve issues by facilitating a common understanding and identifying, coordinating and prioritizing actions
  • The capacity to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of processes within group and across functional and organizational boundaries
  • Interact harmoniously & professionally with all others in the organization including counterparts/advisors at Talisman Energy
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance
Qualifications:

For this position, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or a closely related field is required.
